The Sterling Kaiapoi's new Wellness Centre

Coombes Aquatics Limited, along with Lime Developments Ltd, has completed The Sterling Kaiapoi's new village amenities building, which features a village reception, clubhouse, cafe, cinema, gym, aquatic and sauna wellness centre. Coombes Aquatics is responsible for the creation of two stunning water spaces and the sauna room.

This collaborative approach clearly works, and the residents and wider village families of The Sterling Kaiapoi are the proud new owners of a state-of-the-art wellness centre featuring a:  

• An inviting 15m, heated, indoor, continuous depth Lap swimming pool, finished in the stunning ELBE Pool Surface membrane with a waterline tile finish. 
• A luxurious hot tub with an ELBE Pool Surface membrane for guaranteed watertightness, clad in stylish ceramic tiles for added heat protection and an opulent, restful finish. 
• Complete with infrared EOS luxury sauna heaters and clad in traditional Finnish kiln-dried sauna wood, creating a relaxing wellness centre vibe. 

In 2024, The Sterling Kaiapoi won “best small retirement village”, and in 2025, following the completion of 184 independent villas and townhouse units, it was awarded “best large South Island retirement village” in the national retirement village awards. With the completion of the village's welcoming central amenities hub, The Sterling Kaiapoi is well placed for further honours in 2026. Most importantly, the new amenities building creates a convivial community space for recreation and social connection for residents and their families to enjoy and be part of - vital ingredients for wellbeing at every stage of life.
